Shipdham Flying Club is a group of flyers and friends who operate Shipdham Airfield for the benefit of the General Aviation community.
The club was formed in early 2000 to re-open Shipdham airfield. The club is thriving. The runway has been resurfaces and the clubhouse has been redecorated.
Hangarage and outside parking is normally available. Please contact the Club Secretary for details. (Telephone numbers below.)
The airfield was the wartime base of the 44th Bombardment Group, known as the .Flying Eightballs. It now hosts their museum. The airfield and museum receive visits from the families of wartime veterans and anyone else interested in the history of the airfield. Please call the Club Secretary for details.
The Airfield is staffed at the weekends by club members who provide a Ground/Air radio service and dispense reasonably priced fuel to visitors. Our catering staff offer a variety of cooked food, including the obligatory bacon sarnie, and liquid refreshments. The Club House retains its legendary ambience. The members are enthusiastic and helpful.
Come and experience what General Aviation is all about.
